FAQs
Businesses whose aggregate turnover crosses the prescribed threshold (generally ₹40 lakh for goods and ₹20 lakh for services, lower in some special-category states) must register. Some cases need registration regardless of turnover, such as inter-state supply of goods, e-commerce sellers and reverse-charge cases.
Typically PAN and Aadhaar of the proprietor/partners/directors, photographs, proof of business address (rent agreement and utility bill or ownership document), bank account details, and constitution documents for firms and companies.
Under the QRMP scheme, eligible taxpayers (turnover up to ₹5 crore) file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly and pay tax monthly through challan. Others file monthly. We help you choose based on your invoice volume and cash flow.
A late fee applies for every day of delay, along with interest (generally 18% a year) on any unpaid tax. Continued non-filing can lead to notices and cancellation of registration, so regular filing is important.
